These are some examples of white wash wood graining paint technique often called faux painting. On the left is my usual way of having the color as the background and the white for the grain of the wood. The next one is done in reverse, white as background and color for the wood grain.

The next sample is a crackle effect. I will be painting two pieces of furniture with this crackle as the background. I like this look and I think it will go well with a beach scene painting. I think the wood graining and the crackle technique work well for cottage furniture. I will show the steps of painting a sofa table and an occasional table, each will have a beach scene hand painted on the furniture. One of the paintings will have sandpiper birds running on the sand. A favorite for many beach lovers out there.
