I have finished the flowers on a porch overlooking the ocean oil painting. This original oil painting is a 16′ x 20″ on canvas and a gold wood frame is included in the price. For more details on purchasing this original can be found here http://pjcookartist.com/paintings-pjcook/flowers/floral-essence .
6th and Final Stage
The final details in this landscape were added since my previous post in the 5th stage in this painting of flowers. I added texture to the grass area by using more paint and using short strokes with the paint brush. I also added waves in the water with a small brush. The waves had less detail as they receded and I put small highlights on the top of the waves. I added more texture to the granite stone around the edge of the porch using a variety of cool and warm greys. I continued glazing over the pillars and trim with a variety of greys and warm whites. I added a pink white to the pillar area that was reflected from the pink flowers in the hanging planter. The flowers on a porch painting was fun to paint because it brings back memories of Watch Hill, Rhode Island during the summer.
My next oil painting will be another porch except this scene will have wicker furniture overlooking the ocean. There will be a sitting area on this next porch painting that you will wish you were there with friends and family overlooking an ocean bay.
