The landscape oil painting of the pretty porch overlooking the ocean has changed considerably since the last post of this painting in early June. After viewing the landscape painting for a while I went to work on the background and then the details of the porch and the wicker.

I have been working on the ocean and sky in the background. The direction of the sun is from the upper right in this original oil painting. To have the right side appear lighter I made the left side of the sky and the water darker. Then I added the details of the waves.
The location of this pretty porch overlooking the ocean is from Niantic, CT. The water that is in the background is Niantic Bay and the beach cottage sits high off the water. One of the things I like about this cottage is the stone walk next to the porch. It is made of stones from the beach in front of the cottage.
