Beach House Watercolor is the first painting I have done from a sketch I posted on August 1, 2013. I decided to paint this in watercolor first and then in oil paint second.
My focus is on the two pretty white chairs and table that overlook a white picket fence and a variety of flowers. These are ornate metal chairs with beautiful detail and I kept these chairs the brightest white in the painting.
Beach House Watercolor Closeup
If you look at the sketch of this beach house below I changed the light source in the watercolor. The sun is coming from the top right in the sketch and I moved it to the top left in the watercolor above. I wanted to see how the focal point would look with a darker area behind the white chairs.
I may paint another watercolor of this beach cottage with the original light source and then compare the two paintings before I start an oil painting. The original watercolor is 7.5″ by 9.5″ and is available for purchase. This beach house watercolor comes with a nice double mat and I am offering free shipping to anywhere in the continental United States. Price is $98. please use the comment box below with any questions or use the contact page. I will be posting this beach house watercolor for sale from the home page of my website soon. As always please send me your comments I would love to hear from you. Thanks.
