I recently completed this red rose flower painting in watercolor. I love flowers in watercolor because of the luminosity and vivid color you can achieve in transparent watercolor. This flower closeup features the red rose, stems with thorns and green leaves. This original painting will look very nice with a mat and frame. My painting focus is still coastal landscapes but I am spending time working on flower paintings in watercolor right now too. I really enjoy painting flower closeups so I started up again.
