I rode my bicycle to draw this red barn sketch that I painted in oil back in my studio. This is a favorite place of mine that never seems to change much. This former Connecticut dairy farm was run by the Newton brothers and is now owned by a daughter. She no longer has any cows but maintains the property much as it always was back when her father ran it.
That morning I did 3 pencil sketches that I am going to be painting in oil in the alla prima style or ” in one sitting”. This original oil is looking down the road and green fields to the red barn and outbuildings. The farmhouse is also in the painting tucked in the dark green trees.
