Here is the finished watercolor painting of kitesurfing off Ft Lauderdale Beach. This artwork features people watching as well as the kitesurfer in the water. Working from my previous sketch I decided to use lighter blues in the background with stronger values in the foreground. I opted for one kitesurfer instead of the 3 kites that I had in my sketch.

Painting Techniques

My paper is a Arches 260 lb that I can paint on without stretching. There is some texture and paint granulation throughout the painting. The right side of the sky has paint granulation that you can see in this image. There is dry brush technique used for the waves in the water and in the foreground I have dry brush and spatter.
