Pretty porch scene with blue hydrangea flowers bordering a traditional house. Watch Hill gardens are common in this old coastal town in Rhode Island. The window boxes were overflowing with pink geraniums. The blue hydrangea flowers were in bloom and were pretty enough to paint. Wicker chairs and table are on the porch ready for a relaxing afternoon.
This painting took more time with all the architectural details in the old house. The clapboard, porch railings and bay window area have pretty details. The wicker table and chairs along with the window added to the scene. I painted this pretty much how I came across it on my way to an afternoon of swimming at East Beach in Watch Hill.
